Heavy weapons — that’ll be the focus of today’s trailer for Blacklight: Retribution, the upcoming free-to-play shooter currently under development by Zombie Studios. Much like Jesse “The Body” Ventura’s teachings in Predator, we’re left wondering how anyone can settle with a weapon that doesn’t weight as much as the guy carrying it. Thankfully, Blacklight: Retribution will be one such game that allows us, the players, the chance to wield such wildly enormous weapons of mass destruction.

Just give the latest gameplay trailer a viewing; it’ll make you question the relevance behind such piddly little things as handguns, SMGs, and the like, when you have the chance to cruise around the virtual battlefield with a host of arm-breaking, death-dealing toys at your mercy. Sure, silly motives such as “balancing” and “fair play” will mean that the super weapons are nerfed somewhat, but that won’t detract from us pretending that we’re sexual tyrannosaurus’, if only a short while.
