Modern Warfare 2 “skin pack” for Left 4 Dead 2 turns your survivors into soldiers

By

There’s no denying that the four Survivors of Left 4 Dead 2 are a nice enough bunch, but when you’ve been staring at the backs of their heads or forearms for over a year, you tend to fancy a little something different to gawk at. If you happen to be a fan of Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 game, you could also just install a skin pack which will sling out the old survivors, and introduce four new dudes in full military gear. If you’ve played MW2, you’ll likely recognize the outfits.

The skin pack — which contains each of the four Modern Warfare 2-inspired skins — is available to download for free via L4DMaps — and it only weighs in at a paltry 18MB for the entire package. Installation consists of simply dragging ‘n’ dropping the contents of the zip archive into your /Steam/steamapps/common/left 4 dead 2/left4dead2/addons folder and voilĂ , you have yourself a small team of Army Rangers at your disposal — and a very short Simon “Ghost” Riley.

If you want to take your love for all things pertaining to Modern Warfare 2 even further, you could also install a “sound mod,” a pack which will essentially replace a bunch of original with those taken from MW2. The pack that I’ve had my eye on for the past, oh, 20-minutes of so, will apparently phase out the default weapon sounds and will instead use the weapon sounds of Modern Warfare 2 instead. A video demonstration has been included below.

The download link is available in the video’s description box. I haven’t yet had chance to test out the weapon sounds, so download at your own risk.
