The original Darksiders was a surprise hit last year and, despite featuring many apocalyptic-themes, the game was actually really quite a cheery little game to play with its over the top action and storyline. Naturally, the success of the original has paved the way for a sequel in Darksiders II. The follow-up will have the previous game’s anti-hero War being substituted out for fellow horseman and sibling, Death. Game Informer has the scoop, and will also be covering the game quite in-depth in the next issue of the magazine.
The folks at Game Informer have also, in their infinite kindness, been generous enough to share the promotional cover for next month’s issue, which sports a very large and intimidating Death wielding two equally beastly scythes. Darksiders II will apparently introduce a much deeper experience by allowing players to “explore more dungeons, talk with a variety of NPCs, and experiment with a detailed loot system.” There’ll likely still be plenty of demon and monster slaying to get stuck into once the game is released, too.
