Newest Brink patch plugs a lot of holes

According to the lovely folks who update the Steam news blog, Splash Damage’s rather wet shooter, Brink, has received its umptienth update to further address some of the nagging problems that many PC gamers have been encountering. Included below is the changelog in its entirety:


  1. Fixed sound dropping out when playing networked games
  2. Improved graphical performance, especially when using Ambient Occlusion
  3. Fixed voice packs being reset to default when you delete another character
  4. Removed ability to use certain cheat protected commands in challenges
  5. Fixed memory leak/crash when alt-tabbed out

User Interface

  1. Full servers are no longer filtered out of the browser
  2. Added support for entering a range of numbers (i.e. 10-12) in server filters
  3. Reduced font size in the server browser
  4. Exiting Head customization returns to the correct menu
  5. Fixed being unable to bind KP_Enter in the UI
  6. Increased font size of in-game text chat
  7. ‘Enter’ now closes text chat prompt if empty
  8. Fixed challenge in menu flashing even after completion

Dedicated Servers

  1. Improved dedicated server CPU performance
  2. Fixed NPC not spawning for escort objectives online on servers using unsupported cvars

So, yeah, at least now you can return to offering abnormally-lanky people with, hopefully , much fewer problems from now on.
