Razer Hydra due out in June

It might look like the illegitimate child of a Wii nunchuck remote and a disco ball but the Razer Hydra is something you might want to seriously consider getting a hold of when it is released in June. But what the motherfudge is it? Well it’s a motion-control device for the PC developed by Razer and Sixense and despite its rather odd appearance, it seems there is something of a market for this sort of thing so don’t be left behind. Pre-ordering opens in May for the Hydra bundle which will include the base, two controllers and a copy of Portal 2. Software compatibility is not an issue either because straight out of the box the Hydra is supported by no less than 125 games including the aforementioned Portal 2, along with Bulletstorm, Call Of Duty: Black Ops and Left 4 Dead 2. Not bad, eh? Add all this to low power consumption, an ultra-precise sensor with 1mm and 1 degree tracking as well as a rapid-fire trigger for faster in-game response and you’ll be well on your way to battering the crap out of people online with something that whilst slightly weird-looking is still miles more attractive than what the consoles are offering right now. Increased sensitivity of movement will also mean you won’t look a complete moron waving your arms around manically trying to get the game to copy your actions. Which is always a bonus.

For this controller to work with your current setup, you’ll need a PC with USB port, Windows 7/Vista/XP, an internet connection for the installation of the driver and at least 35MB of hard disk space.
