‘Morrowind 2011′ mod provides a beautiful HD makeover

By

It’s the talented modders out there whom go to the trouble of pouring their hearts into developing new ways for us to enjoy our favourite games. Modder warwon is one such chap who has gone the extra mile and has taken the mammoth task of bringing the visuals of The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind up to speed.

The newer, higher resolution textures introduced within the ‘Morrowind 2011′ mod more of par with Bethesda’s latest Oblivion effort. The quality of the visuals really is quite a staggering leap over those featured in the original Morrowind from 2002. The island of Vvardenfell has never looked so vibrant and beautiful… and higher resolution. That’s reason enough for me to consider revisiting Tamriel.

The mod weighs in at a pretty beefy 4GB, but it’s available to download from a number of places. Afraid I don’t have the system requirements at hand, but you can presume that if your rig is only just barely capable of running the vanilla Morrowind, you’ll perhaps need to consider upgrading.

There’s also an official blog available to keep you up to date with the latest ‘haps’ of how the mod is shaping up.
